I love Dwight

I don't listen to a lot of country but for some reason Dwight Yoakam is THE MAN to me for this type of music. I may not be a Honky Tonk Man, driving a 1000 Miles from Nowhere or walking the Streets of Bakersfield but his music sure is fun to bounce around to (when no one is looking - LOL).
A few ATC/ACEO's from this weekend:

FLORAMON - mini flower monster

HONEY BEE
LOLLIPOP LOLITA - Betty

Mermaid Dreaming

I love mermaids. I made this Atlantic Mermaid so long ago yet it remains one of favorite pieces (she's supposed to be holding a shell but I never gave it to her). Resurrecting her has inspired me to make some more. :o)
If you like you can view more of my mermaids here:

IT'S TIME to announce the winner... :o)

It was really hard trying to decide who to choose for the name of my new piece! I tried out all the names (several times!) to make sure I didn't miss any and could pronounce them properly.
I don't want to keep you guys waiting any longer so here it is:

THE Winner of the Wee Crabbie for naming my piece is....

drum roll...

Theresa Whitmore from Sycamore Moon Studios!!!! Yay Theresa!!! ( http://feltmusings.blogspot.com/ )
She came up with the name "Snarbix" and I think it suits him perfectly. The name is a bit Seuss-like too.

Theresa, be sure to send me your mailing address so I can get Wee Crabbie out to you right away!

An Honorable Mention goes out to Pattee from Odd-Dolls (http://odd-dolls.blogspot.com/ ) for providing me with a first name for my Snarbix. Clarence. That just seemed to fit his personality. So it is Clarence the Snarbix. :o)

Pattee, send me your address because I have a little something for you too.

Thank you ALL for playing along! I really enjoyed your huge imaginations and funny posts!

Tomorrow I choose...

I am dancing with excitement! Tomorrow I will be choosing the winner of my "Name the Piece" contest! Who will it be? So many good names to choose from it is TOUGH! BUT Wee Crabbie is going home with someone so stay tuned - it could be you!
This is a simple Artrage drawing I made for fun. Artrage is (hopefully still is) an inexpensive download for digital drawing. I like the program. :o)

Garden Gnome ATC

I really like the way this Garden Gnome came out. The little black and white drawing is from a doodle I did while in a meeting at work (Shhhh). The background was just playing but it all seems to go together nicely. I did this last night when I realized I forgot to make my Fantasy ATC to take to my Junk-it-up meeting for trading! I think I seriously need to upgrade my memory chip - ha ha ha!

The ADO Elements Challenge - All Elements

I decided to use all the elements for this challenge. Although you may not "see" them all within her form, they are there and are alive just like the still soft voices at the back of our minds and hearts. For this piece it is the inner eye and inner knowing that will allow you to see.

The goddess of Universal Energy
Forged of Earth, Fire, Water and Sky the goddess of Universal Energy is the embodiment of all that we can be - the body human rising to its spiritual destiny and creating an entirely new spiritual being in the process.

Kundalini snakes up her back rising higher and coalescing with all the energies contained within her.

The Love of "All That Is" rises from her heart center to her crown.

The swirling energy of creation is within her.

Name My New Piece

No longer WIP. I can't believe it. LOL This Craballama Antelope thingy could have seriously walked out of a Dr. Seuss book.

Any one up to naming this new found species? :o) Let's just say whoever comes up with a "species" name I like will win this Wee Crabbie! I'll give you all until next Wednesday, July 22nd to help me name this piece.

Thanks for playing along!

WIN ME!

NAME ME!

Angels Among Us

I had a mini collage class this weekend and it was really fun. We learned all sorts of techniques for building up layers of color and design. You can even use elmers glue to create a crackle effect with paint - I had no idea and thought that was cool. The photo that you see here was created by using what we learned.I had no idea where I was going with it so I just moved with the flow. There wasn't enough time to do a finished piece but I was lucky enough to have time to play with it at home. I am not sure if it is finished - we shall see.

ATC's

I really liked making these. I think I could be hooked. Not sure if that's a good thing or not since I already have so many other things I enjoy creating. How do you handle having so many directions when it comes to creating??? Do Tell

This card is going to get words around the edge that repeats "I Like Bats"

This is the back of the same card

This is called La Mariposa and I am going to put a poem about butterflies on the back.

The Art of Up-cycling

Here is another way to Up-cycle found objects. This House Warming Angel I created is constructed over a wine bottle (*hic*). Her sculpted paperclay head is adorned with vintage glass and a vintage flower pin all held in place nicely with apoxy clay. She is holding a little house that I made from a small block of wood, cardboard and paper with vintage glass shingles and flowers. Her body is covered with this really awesome paper that has the most gorgeous shades of blues and purples with a bit of aqua and gold thrown in and little fiber threads. I attached a wooden base to the bottle which gives her better stability. I also added a bit of play sand inside the bottle to keep the weight at the bottom so she would not tip over. Her arms and wings are made from heavy gauge wire which is another way for me to say I have no idea what size the wire is! :o)

Below is another one I made although I am not certain what this bottle contained. It was a very cool geometric shape. This Sea Angel is made in the same way but instead adorned with mini sea shells, star fish and a sea shell bouquet. She has a vintage pin in her hair that I believe is from the 40's and belonged to my Grandmother. This is the first Angel I made. The owner of this Angel commissioned the one above and has just recently asked me to do one more for her. I guess I better go find another cool used bottle...
