What's On My Easel?

This is my in-progress of the painting currently on my easel. I need to bust out some paintings because I have quite a few shows between now and the end of October.

This is called "Love Makes A Home" and is 18 x 24" on stretched canvas and I still have a ways to go with it.

New Art & Things in Progress

Just finished this cute little girl but I have no idea what to call her. Maybe something will come to mind once everything settles...

And here is a Rocket Boy. His background was inspired (copied - ha ha) by Mati Rose from her book "Daring Adventures in Paint". Definitely a fun read with some good ideas.

Here is a very orange little kitty I am working on. I used a product called Paverpol for the silk flower and leaves and then painted them. The Paverpol makes them kind of hard and a bit flexible which is ideal as an embellishment when you are using stretched canvas for the painting. I think I will use it again.

Do you think I need to add an ear peeking out on the left side? I keep going back and forth on that one.

And I finally got the words onto this painting "Beauty in Your Soul", so now I can call her finished.

I have a new look!

I decided it was time for a change. Time to lighten up my blog from the very dark black to pale grey and whimsical. I even over-hauled my logo which I am really loving.

What I am working on

I am creating this piece for an art show I am doing on Saturday, May 11th at Oyster Point in Newport News, VA. I think I am going to add a butterfly and words trailing behind it that say
"Recognize the beauty of your soul"

Eye Candy

This is a pretty small painting and a collaboration between my good friend Cynthia Anderson and I. She started it and then was fed up with it (I know how that goes), so I said I would finish it. She did the cool lacey paper collage and began an outline of a woman which I then reinterpreted, added some blacker blacks, whites and the funky leaves. I think it is pretty sweet!

New Work

Some new work I recently finished. 30 x 40" Floral Cat and 24 x 36" Best Friends. Both are acrylic, mixed media and hanging in the Gallery at the Chapman in Hampton, VA.
