Poochy Love

Here's a couple more paintings.  Poochy Love is complete.
The other one still has a few more touches before it is finished.  This painting is called "A Little Birdie Told Me" and I am going to collage those words on.  She needs a necklace of some sort as well.  It seems I can only produce two paintings in a weekend and that is using up the entire weekend.  Look, now it is Monday morning! I must be crazy... ha ha

Two New Cuties

These two paintings are small.  The Little Witch is 5x7 and Bee Boy is 6x6.  I kinda like working in this size. :o)

FANTASY

I will never get tired of this song!   No video - just the song.

Lyrics so you can sing along :o)

Every man has a place, in his heart there's a space,
and the world can't erase his fantasies
Take a ride in the sky, on our ship fantasize
all your dreams will come true, right away
And we will live together, until the twelfth of never
our voices will ring forever, as one
Every thought is a dream, rushing by in a stream,
bringing life to THE kingdom of doing
Take a ride in the sky, on our ship fantasize
all your dreams will come true, miles away
Our voices will ring together until the twelfth of never,
we all, will live LOVE forever, as one
Come to see, victory in a land called fantasy,
loving life, for you and me, to behold, to your soul is ecstasy
You will find, other kind, that has been in search OF you,
many lives has brought you to
recognize it's your life, now in review
and as you stay for the play, fantasy, has in store for you,
a glowing light will see you through
It's your day, shining day, all your dreams come true
As you glide, in your stride with the wind, as you fly away
give a smile, from your lips, and say
I am free, yes I'm free, now I'm on my way
Come to see, victory in a land called fantasy,
Loving life, for you and me, to behold, to your soul is ecstasy
You will find other kind, that has been in search of you,
Many lives has brought you to
Recognize it's your life now in review.

Lost Gloves 18x20

Remember this guy?  I have been wanting to make him into a painting for a long time and here he is. :o) He's not exactly the same which I guess is to be expected but he is pretty close.  The drawing is only 4x6 so I had to draw him pretty big onto the canvas.

Angel Love

Almost finished with another one for the show.  Need to add a few more little details and then I'll be happy with it.

It's funny how taking a photo actually helps the "seeing" process and let's me know what is missing or needs to be tweaked.

Finished Painting ;o)

I just finished this painting about 30 minutes ago and wanted to share it with you.  It is going into the show in October and it feels great to have it DONE.  Only 22 more to go... ha ha ha.  This is a nature inspired painting with my idea of little luminescent creatures that help take care of the plant life.  I swear I saw one in my back yard (grin).  The doodles below are what inspired this.

Stockley Gardens Art Show

I was just juried in and will participate in the Stockley Gardens Art Show in October. They chose my paintings and jewelry (my sculpture wasn't accepted, sigh...) Now I am freaking out because I need to get some more stuff made! It is true we create our own stress isn't it? ha ha ha

In the Big Red capitol

I took some time off and went to visit my sister who lives in the state where Red is the number One color;  Lincoln, NE home to the Big Red Cornhuskers. I had a great time and was able to relax... and relax... and relax... Boy was that ever needed. ;o)  Beware as this is a photo heavy entry and not what I typically share when it comes to photos but I love the shots. Be sure to click on the photos that interest you for a larger view.

This is Big Red country:
Below: The state capitol.
Above: My silly Sister at work. :o)
Below: Some shots around town.

I love the old buildings and the bricks.

Fun wall murals - they do it to cut down on graffiti and it seems to work.

Below: An amazing show of tiny embroidery- almost all were 100% by hand.  I only wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who made them.  Photos just can't capture how amazing these tiny works of art truly are.

Below: In the quiet of the cemetary.  There is such beautiful artwork to be found here.

Below:  St. Mary's Catholic church where I spent my formative years every Saturday or Sunday.  This church is directly across the street from the Capitol building.  They were holding Mass or I would have taken some inside shots as well.  This church was featured in the movie "Terms of Endearment".

Below:  Out in the countryside.  You can actually breathe here.  I love the wide open.

Below:  Going Home... sigh...
