Blossom Bunny

She is finally finished and I just posted her to Etsy. What a long time it has taken but I am so happy she is done and I really like how she turned out. Blossom decided flowers suit her much better then a bee hive!

15 min. lunch drawing

Not sure if I can do this daily but that is the plan for now - to do a drawing every day at lunch time to help boost the mental creativity. Here is today's session which is very rough but that is ok since it is about being spontaneous and getting something onto paper. This picture comes from the memory of when I was a kid and the winds of March would blow and blow across the plains of NE. We would take our coats and parachute off the stairs or some high place and let the winds catch us as we fell to the ground or we would pull out the kites and send them soaring up into the clear blue sky. It was all part of the fun and magic of March when the Earth finally started to warm up!

Shhh... A Secret secret

I am going to let you in on a little secret. Oh, it's one most people know about but unless you are the artist involved you really don't get to see it up close and personal. The Secret? Not everything we create comes out the way we expect it to. Take for instance my bunny. I imagined her as a Honey Bunny where her cute round little body would look like a bee hive. Alas, my beautiful coloring looks more like some odd kind of stripes. I still love her though so we are going to work through this. Gone is the image of my Honey Bunny and in it's place is something I call 'experimentation'. Care to journey with me while we work it out and see what she really wants to be? :o)

The Naked Bunny has Color

Here she is with added color to enhance your visual pleasure. Her vibrant yellow really is as bright as the photo shows. She's posing in front of a canvas that I am painting at the same time I am working on her. Her little hair bows are cute bumble bees and she is wearing shoes. There are quite a few more details to be added and then she will be done. MAYBE I will actually get to post her to my Etsy shop by Sunday - that would be great!

These Faces were made for Hollywood!

I was going to post some more WIP but I can't get the pictures off the camera yet so... here are some 'other' pictures. Look how pretty they are. ;o)
The photos fit their personalities too. The red hair is Sydd's mom. The brownish hair is little sister. Too funny. I love my girls!

What about Syddhartha?

I have to change my ways. I do. If I want any part of this planet left for Sydd then I need to start making faster changes in the way I go through life consuming, filling up the land pile like the rest of my neighbors, and the world. Thankfully Sydd's mom is a loving and smart mother who has already made changes in how she lives upon this planet and she is educating me. It's not that I have not known this stuff it's just that I have never really acted strongly enough to change how I live. So it begins...
Sydd is just over 5 months now. Of course I think he is the cutest baby to ever hit the planet but that's because I am his Grandma AND he REALLY IS the cutest baby to ever hit the planet!~GRIN~

The Easel Wrestling Contest

You read that right and it was quite some contest too. In fact the frickin' Easel almost won! NOTE the word "almost". I out smarted it at the last second and presto! I had a beautiful wooden easel resting on three legs for me to paint upon. Now I remember why I don't like to buy anything that you have to put together yourself. One day I may scan a picture of the over exaggeration they called "directions". The pictures were in various shades of grey making it difficult to ascertain what part was what and on top of that, the shapes weren't even close. All I can say is thank goodness I am pretty good with puzzles and spatial concepts because that sucker tried every trick in the book to out wit me.
Stay tuned because I will be posting some paintings soon that I will have painted upon that Grand Easel!

Baby Steps...

Baby Steps... that is how I view the creating process especially at this time of year. I work for an accounting firm so time is really not very abundant right now. :o) Here are some "baby steps" towards the completion of some of my projects. For some reason I just wasn't able to take good pictures. My camera didn't want to focus (or was that me?). That is why they are black and white and blurry :o)
Look - the bunny has little hair bands and rings around her eyes plus I sanded the heck out of her, the thing in the middle I am not sure what it will be yet and the bug has a face now and creepy bug hair on his head! I'm lovin' the bug... LOL

Quick Elf update from the WIP of a previous post. I broke her neck! Oi! Now I am in the process of figuring out a creative way to repair. Whatever I do it will have added strength so there will be no fear of breaking it again. I still need to bake that little old lady/girl holding a flat cat.
